I can't enter DFU mode to jailbreak 2.0

    I have a custom ipsw and I keep trying to get into dfu but its not working...

    Can you use Ziphone to do it? Try that out... then restore to whatever iTunes sees fit (let it fix everything) and then 2.0 jailbreak. I had to do this when I installed my modded 2.0 firmware (Windows PC).... my iPod just wouldn't accept the firmware and wouldn't process suff until it was fully functioning.

    I can't even get to that step, i can't get INTO dfu mode

    Doesn't Ziphone put your iPod into DFU mode?

    Not the full black screen one...
    Its a blue screen with the recovery icon still

    Restore to a clean 2.0 and try again?

    how would that help me get into DFU mode?
    shouldn't I be able to go there from 1.1.4?

    Oh I thought you were already in 2.0 and were jailbreaking. Try restoring and try it again. My iPod has died too now, everything has turned to 'Other' in iTunes and when I sync, its putting more songs in, duplicates of the old ones, I'm not happy =[
