EDIT: sorry i think this might be the wrong section...

ok so i usually just watch videos on a website but after i updated to iOS 4 when i clickon the video all it does is goes to a page has a little quicktime player symbol that pops up and plays the video, then when i click done it will take me back to the page i was on before i clicked on the video. before it used to bring me to a page with two buttons saying 'download!' and 'play in media player' i managed to take a screen shot of the page i get now before it sent me back to the other page and here it is

You're on iOS4, trying to use Safari Download Manager (SDM), correct?

Unfortunately, the two are mutually exclusive. SDM isn't designed for iOS4 yet. If you have some money, I would recommend Filer from the App Store for about $4. Expensive, but can double as SDM AND iFile (minus file replacement and navigation).

Safari Download Manager is not compatible with iOS4...
I'm using Mitube (for youtube downloads) but it's been taken off the appstore a week ago :/

I'd suggest using an Appstore web browser capable of downloads.

I'm not sure if this can download videos in the way you described but there is "Downloads" on the appstore (99c I think though I'm not 100%).
You just navigate to the app folder in iFile (or ssh) and there are your precious downloads.

Downloads is decent, though I'm using Mercury at the moment (it's a pretty decent fullscreen browser!) with downloading AND Ad block enabled. Basically, you just hold your finger down on a link it and it'll download. The downloads themselves are held in the application folder (locate using SBSettings) in documents.
