So i was going to take pictures off of my touch and realized that it said 2.16/2.16gb remaining under the picture folder in windows explorer. so then i deleted a movie off of it, and it said 4.8/4.8gb free.

I am not running any programs to hack it, nor is it jailbroken.

Anyone got any ideas on why this is so.

I'm not sure what you're asking but I'm pretty sure you could use any ipod as a storage device. I've been using my 30gig ipod video as a portable hard drive ever since I got my ipod touch.

Try a program called AirShare, it does that for you.

The folder containing pictures taken/screenshots will tell you it has all the device's free space remaining, but unfortunately you can't put stuff in the folder, you can only copy the pics to somewhere else/delete them.

Also, try the now-free Discover app. It works amazingly for me.
