So my tmobile sidekick took a fall and the screen doesnt flip right anymore. So i bought a broken iphone from my friend for 70 dollars. The iphone worked until the battery died, the charge port is broken and i cant charge it because of this.
I found a new charge port on ebay for 9.99 with free shipping how hard are they to install? Ive taken the lcd digitizer and glass off of 3g iphones before and that wasn't hard. Would it be smart to send it to a internet repair shop? Because I found one that will install the new dock connector module for 64.99 if it doesnt work you dont get charged.

Hmm if that guarantee is legitimate, it seems like a good deal.

well i've never done it my self but i assume hat if you can get to the 30 pin connector alright you would have to take it off and them solder on a new one. so i wouldn't recommend it to you if its your first time soldering computer components

the 30 pin dock connector is attatched to a ribbon cable that has to be replaced too you cant do one or the other it has to be both I have solderd a few times before, but the points for the dock connector are so small i wouldnt want to do it myself.

70 dollars for a broken iPhone (that you can get for 99) seems like a rip off to me.

but he said that he has t-mobile and that means he would have to switch over to at&t. an unlocked phone would cost him a bunch too. so $70 isn't bad for an unlocked if it is easily repairable.

You can eBay it as and easy fix for $100+. Then you can i dunno? Get an off contract 3G 8GB for $299? If its and easy fix than do it though or send it in.
