My sister just got a new 2nd generation touch. She has it set up to connect to her wifi. It shows that she is connected. Even shows a IP address, but when she tries to access appstore or Youtube she gets message that she is not connected to a wifi. HELP!

Mine will often drop the wifi connection and I have to reconnect manually through settings (or wait). Also, I noticed if my laptop is between the itouch and the wifi antenna it will drop off the network.

You probably have a DNS. If that is the case, then you have to know it in order to use the internet.

what are you trying to connect to? i had a wifi network which was actually my landline phone (who the F*** puts wifi on a landline phone?) and obviously it couldn't access he internet but still told me it was connected to wifi. i just had to make sure i was connected to my real router.

Hazzah makes a good point there. Check the gateway address and make sure that this corresponds to your routers address. Maybe you have connected to a completely different WiFi network.
