This is not possible at the moment, and probably won't be in the near future.

First of all, I dislike my username. XD

Second: Software? For what? You do realize that the phone tethering thing is not possible, like I just told you?

Why would you want to tether an iPod to a phone? If you want all over internet for your iPod, get an iPhone.

I HATE it when people say "Just Get An iPhone." Please Just Stop It. Some people just don't have the budget for it, so this question was perfectly honest, as a cheap way of iPod Touch Internet anywhere. Even though it can't be done, there is no harm in asking, but STOP with the worthless responses.

I agree, it is not a useful comment as some people are financially restrained or simply already have a phone.

After bluetooth is fully unlocked this may become easier, but I assume it woluld also require some sort of app on the phone in question.

    Lets see.

If someone is going to get an iPod touch and a Phone at this current time, they are just thick:

    iPod touch = £165 (8GB)
Average "acceptable" phone = £100 (minimum)

    thats £265.

    Look Here

Yes its from US, but you can also work it out like this:

    iPod touch = $230
    Good phone = $140

    thats $370

so you'll only be around 30 dollars outta pocket.
