Going from 1.1.1 to 1.1.2 is currently the only possible way. You need to revert the Touch to 1.1.1 then go through the jailbreaking & updating steps.

ye you have to downgrade to 1.1.1 and then jailbreak it using

www.jailbreakme.com (on ipod touch not pc ).

then install oktoprep using the installer.app

then connect to pc or mac then install update.

if you dont know how to downgrade to 1.1.1 you need to find on the internet the ipod touch 1.1.1 firmwire restore download it then turn your ipod on then hold the home button plug into pc still holding the home button till itunes reads the ipod then hold alt on the key board then click restore and a window should come up asking for the firmwire file then just choose the 1.1.1 firmwire !!! hope this helps

You still need to downgrade to 1.1.1, regardless of the OS you have.
Look for the 1.1.1 firmware file that ends in _Restore.ipsw, and restore your iPod to that by holding down shift and click the restore button in iTunes.
