iOS 4.1 Hypothetical untethered jailbreak

    Let's say the next jailbreak is tethered. It is still a jailbreak right? So can we not load a custom firmware? In this case, we could restore to a custom firmware that has the PDF exploit still intact, and thus have a complete jailbreak from jailbreakme.com Someone confirm/debunk this.

    Itunes would reject any custom firmware when restoring due to the ECID and signature check.

    this is a possiblity but the pdf exploit was patched by ios 4.0.2

    i think he means somehow exploit a 4.0 fw and inject the new exploit

    Its hypothetical, maybe but It seems like it would be very well hard.
