Hey guys i have iPod Touch 1G 8GB and 3.0 jaibroken. I had installed many stuff through Icy and Cydia and was using VLC when got an error message and got in safe mode. I started it in normal mode tried some themes and went on to use safari where it got hung up. I thought it may take some time so I left it there. But when i checked again is had restarted and hungup on Boot Logo. When I connect to my PC its charging the iPod but not recognizing. My iTunes version is 8.2.

Is it still hung at the boot logo? If not, uninstall the last couple of things you installed in Cydia/Icy, then reboot. If it's still hung, you will probably need to put into DFU Mode and restore, unless you can manually use SSH to uninstall the last thing you installed.
