I own the original ipod touch and the problem is I can only turn it on by holding down both buttons, and when I plug it in to a charger (the pc) it dies almost immediately. (but i can still turn it back on its not out of battery)

It also takes forever to turn on. I have no idea how to restore or fix this problem but I think it is not software related..

Is there anyone that can help me? Im starting to worry a lot because its not under warranty anymore and I paid a lot for this device a few years ago.
    Thanks for any help :\

Ok if you know how to put into dfu mode then search how... And do a dfu restore: put iPod into dfu mode(google how to) open iTunes ( iPod plugged in ) and go to device tab and you should get a window saying this iPod is in recovery mode ( dfu screen should just be the backlight so just blank but black) and then just hit restore and it will download the firmware and restore

Your iPod is not bricked if it can turn on

Bricked means; a device is rendered useless through software error. iPod touch have DFU which is not part of the software which means you can ALWAYS restore. Your problem might be the battery or simply needs to be restored.
