I will have to take a look at that. The only developing that I can really do right now is if I want to flash files i download a GAPPS zip and replace the files I want because I don't know how to make Zips flashable. I have done the same thing to MIUI on my Atrix there was a very stable MIUI v4 but there was no data working and there was another very Unstable on with data and I ported the data files and things like that over and got data working. I think that I would be able to make a rom for the phone It would just take time more than anthing else but I would be able to do it. Still wating for him to get home from work to talk to him. So what are you 10 favourite things about you HD2 and 10 things that you hate about it, I would like to know as much about this device as possible before I buy it, are they hard to shatter and brick.
Like: 1. Big screen 2. So much development 3. Still pretty smooth, even on ICS 4. Dual booting 5. ROMs from everywhere- Sense 2.1-4.0, Xperia, custom ROMs made for other phones ported over, etc etc [along with all the HD2 specific ROMs] 6. Good build quality- metal and nice plastic, and I have never had a screen protector, and it's remained flawless 7. Okay, I can't really think of 4 more that aren't related to one of the above 6 Dislike 1. Can't change LED notification light color 2. You have to flash partition tables each time you want a different ROM [unless you stick with ROMs that use similar layouts, or use the more advanced bootloader] 3. Can't play any intense games like GTAIII [well, you CAN, but it's not the same as playing on a newer device] 4. Buttons are kinda clunky and annoying, as compared to most phone's buttons 5. That's about it really. I don't have 10 major things I dislike; usually if I dislike something, it's specific to a ROM, not to the phone itself.
Ok then Likes 1. I'm not to sure about the screen size if it will be too big or the right size. 2. Thats's why I'm trying to buy it because of the development 3. If its not smooth I will just flash another ROM 4. Dual booting will be awesome for me. There can be more that 2 ROMS booting if you have enough space on your SD card to do so. (and I most defiently will with the 3 32gb SD's and the 2 64gb SD's that I bought today ) 5. YOU CAN HAZ A SENSE 4.0 ROM ON IT. ME TRYING THAT 6. Thats what i'm looking for Good Build Quality. 7. Must be a good phone if you cant think of any ways to improve it. Dislikes 1. I wont use it for phone purposes so thats ok. 2. That could be a bit annoying but oh well. 3. I don't play graphic intensive games I just stick to Fruit Ninja and Angry Birds. 4. I think I will use onscreen buttons on ICS ROMS so that is fine. Is the phone really heavy or not, I don't want a device that feels like a brick and does it get hot.
Just putting it out there but the Evo 3D is awesome. It has great build quality, lots of development, still supported and will get official ICS and tons more after that, 1 gig of RAM and Dual Core processor (so good specs), 3D camera + 3D screen (people say it's a gimmick but it is actually REALLY cool for games + movies), pretty cheap price (around 200 bucks). I was looking for a cheap android phone with good specs, an active dev community, and good build quality and was surprised that the Evo 3D was all that + a ton more for cheap! You won't regret it. If you have any questions about it just ask me.
But the Evo 3D is only on US carriers and since I don't live in the US that is a problem, with the HD2 you can use them where I live
There's a GSM model, but they're expensive. [ I looked into one once, it would be like $750 to get one here in the US] The LED thing is only an issue to me since I use it for email, Twitter, FB, etc, and still get notifications. Not a huge deal though. By the way, the Sense 4.0 ROM I'm reffering to is a WIP, they're still getting it booting, but rest assured it will work at some point.
Yeah the LED is not too big for me, I don't really like the Evo 3D at all and I found the Sense 4.0 ROM that you were talking about. What are 10 ROMS that you would suggest using/trying.
