I agree that the Surface isn't really competition against a laptop. I've used it and there's no way I would prefer it over my computer.

Also I'd like to mention that my laptop is from HP, is over a year old, was priced $120 less than the cheapest Surface, and is plenty fast.

I don't like any tablet over my computer. Every time I go to use my tablet it just doesn't give me that full desktop experience.

Windows 8 tablets aim to solve that. I've fallen in love with some Windows 8 tablets. Windows RT, not so much, but they actually have given me a "more than a tablet" feel.

My 17" HP laptop is incredible. I just wish it had better battery life.

    lol he's desperate!!

On the other hand, I would love to see HP offer a tablet better than the surface for less money. I'm all for that :)

That would be pretty sweet! :D My experience with HP, on the other hand, wouldn't make me buy a tablet from than anyways. But still, the Surface is overpriced.
