I found a way to make Cydia stop crashing at least for awhile. When at the desktop hold the sleep/wake button and after the shutdown slider comes up start holding the home button, (now both at once), then after 5 seconds the shutdown slider will disappear and you will be at the desktop. It should work now So you know what you are doing this is the new method to completely close a program which also works on the desktop to close stray processes and clear up system resources.
Cydia won't let me download SBSettings. When click the Install button it just forces closes. What do I have to do?
another problem that could exist is that too many ppl are trying to access cydia at the same time causing the network to overload and crash
I think thats whats happening, no one could download anything for like 3 days so once they all jailbroke at the same time they started downloading like hell
Wrong. Cydia is what you would call a "Client". Even if the server IS being hammered, Cydia, the app on your iPod, will not be affected.
just use a newer version of redsn0w it only crashed for me when i used redsn0w 0.7 but stopped when i jbed my touch with 0.7.1
You're getting mixed up. Yes, some Cydia crashing is caused by legitimate bugs; but, the actual bugginess in Cydia (not being able to download packages) is from the repos being hammered from the update.
