    Alright.. Reinstall Google Voice from the appstore and sign in.

    then go to settings and enter all your information into SMS GV Extensions preferences. Then you should be able to send. To receive you have to buy a license...

    Does anyone know of a tweak to toggle it on and off from anywhere?

    iPod Touch 3G iOS 5 jailbroken: install SMS GV and get Safe Mode. Not too handy. Any fixes?

    EDIT: quick restart fixed it. Now, does this work with all the tweaks meant for the iPhone SMS app, like SMS+?

    Yup, BiteSMS, SMS+ ect.

    But don't QR to iMessages or use the BiteSMS app for iMessage... For some reason it doesn't work yet.

    After I've followed all instructions exactly as they were written...when I try to text someone using the Message app, it says that their number is not registered with iMessage.

    How could I fix this?

    iPod Touch 4G
    Running iOS 5

    Did you add the SMS string to your plist?

    EDIT

    Oh crap, that method doesn't work on iOS 5. Sorry, please re-check the iOS 5 iPod touch 4 section. I forgot to fix the guide when I learned that that method doesn't work.

    Okay, I'm pretty sure I did that before though :p

    The PList for me says:

    HTML:
    <dict>
    <key>capabilities</key>
    <dict>
    <key>sms</key>
    <true/>
    <key>720p</key>
