How To?

    I purchased 3.0 upgrade and i need to get a copy of mobilemusicplayer.app out of it

    How would i go about doing that?

    Umm i just messed up my music app and i dont want to restore but i need the original out of it....or is that a problem?

    I really dont know what i can and cannot do so sorry...

    That's why you always backup before modifying system files.

    Are you on Windows, or on a Mac. The ipsw that you downloaded is really just a zip. Extract that adn open it. There'll be a bunch of files and such in there. Take the largest one and run vfdecrypt on it (if you can't find it online, download it through Cydia. Preferably, use your computer). You will have to scour google for the vfdecrypt key for your firmware. It should be super easy to find.

    What you have left should be the disk image. On a mac, mount that grab everything you need, the app and framework. If on a windows machine, you will need to use a program such as TransMac that can mount macintosh disk images.


    To the other cat who posted in this thread, what the poster is asking for is perfectly legal, legit, and worryfree.

    Redistributing stripped apple code is illegal but you can strip out files from the firmware yourself.
