Yea I was having the same problem with that. It showed 3G but nothing would connect. I had called up ST and they "reprovisioned" my internet/data. And powered it off then on and it worked. You will need to jailbreak to get the APN for the MMS messaging unless you have a different sim card to use like stated in a earlier post. I myself still cannot get the MMS to work so Im going to wait and try again tomorrow.

btw the jailbreakme.com was for the earlier phones
and with the ST its pretty much a AT&T sim and you do not need an unlock which is why your phone and texts should work fine...

Well I finally fixed it thank god. I set the apn and then I removed the unlock.co profile and restarted the phone and it all works now. You do not need the profile to get Internet on your phone.

still having problems.....went and got an old tmobile sim card from a cell phone provider. they cut it to micro size.
i've came home and followed directions, but so far no luck. i'm now resetting the network back on the iphone and i'm going to try again.
I'll put the sim straight talk in.
Then I'll make a call. if the call goes thru, i'll take the sim card out. then settings.general network....then i'll put the tmobile sim in....(so far when i've done this it doesn't do anything except invalid sim card.....maybe after i've reset the phone settings it will work....i hope so

still no luck. i wonder what am i doing wrong?

I've deleted the apn settings, and tried the tmobile sim....i've tried with the unlockit profile....
i really am getting so frustrated with straight talk with this false marketing sceme.

now i'll go back to unlockit and hope somebody can let me know what in the hell i'm doing wrong?

Is it possible that the tmobile sim card they gave me is defective? or maybe it had been jailbroken? i dont' know where the card came from, i just told them i needed an old tmobile sim card. they cut it down to size for me and i thought this would be a simple solution.
when i take the ST sim out....then put the Tmobile it never gives me any option for a cellular network....

Were you ever able to make a call with ST sim card? Whether or not the iPhone has been jailbroken won't matter after you've restored it (it wouldn't matter either way, actually).

    Try this...
Remove the unlockit profile then hard reset the phone by holding the power/ sleep button and the home until it turns off. Then turn the phone back on and insert a tmobile sim card. Check for the network settings. If not then your going to have to jailbreak your phone and install tether me which idk if I would get in trouble for saying you can get for free with the right google search. In no way am I all for it but you r gonna download it just so you can have apn available. Then you can custom put it in and you'll be fine.

I did everything like stated before. I removed the unlockit profile. hard started the phone. turned it on, put tmobile card in.....all i get is no service and nothing else. no new options apear or anything..

I read last night at work, that this is all a hoax. I don't know. a few people have claimed to have done it, but alot of people are saying the iphone4 can not be unlocked with out jailbreak or something.....does anybody know if it might have something to do with the tmobile sim card, or is it software on the phone???/this is driving me crazy

This is not a "hoax" You have read on this thread alone of several people using it, me included. Stop trying to use the T-Mobile sim card. Restore your iPhone to the latest version of iOS. Put your Straight Talk sim card in your iPhone after restoring and see if you are able to make a phone call. You might have to switch airplane mode on then off. If you can make a phone call then use the unlockit.co.nz profile. This does not require an unlock on an AT&T iPhone!

I thought I had stated before that I Can make and recieve phone calls and text. I also get 3G....My problem is MMS.
This is what I'm trying to correct. I thougth I read that people were using a tmobil sim card and it was allowing them to put in the settings from ST.
I've tried and tried, but for some reason, nothing is going on.
I make sure the ST sim card is installed and I call 611. Then I hang up...Then I take the STsim out....Then I go to settings>general>network..........When I'm at the network settings, I put the Tmobile sim card in. A message pops up about invalid sim, or no simcard,,,,I ok that,,,,,then I wait, and wait...Nothing...
Before I've tried this, I "hard booted" the iphone.....
I've done it with the profile from unlock and I've done it with out the profile on the phone....I just cant' figure out this "Rubecks Cube" and it's madening!
I only said people are refering to the tmobile card trick a "hoax"...not my words, theirs..
I really appreciate all the help....I wish I lived close to somebody who has done this and I'd watch how it's done..I live on the East Coast.....Virginia
Thanks again,,,,and if you see anything that I'm doing wrong, please let me know.

Ok, remove the profile.... Jailbreak the phone (litterly its so simple and takes you 5 minutes tops, All you need to do is put the phone in dfu mode and it tells you how to do that and let the phone do the rest...) Then message me on here and Ill walk you through.
