Hey guys, this is my first big tutorial, so bare with me if I'm doing something wrong.

So, a lot of people use themes to customize their iPod's right? What if you, let's say, downloaded a theme, and didn't like it? That happens a lot, well, for me at least.

Check out this tutorial for help making your own themes and backgrounds.

But that's not what this tutorial is about.

I am making this to provide customization beyond WinterBoard, such as changing slider text, reflective icons, and other, awesome tweaks.

    So let's get started!

    HOW TO CHANGE SLIDER TEXT

    Slide to Unlock text:

    1. Open iFile.
    2. Navigate to /System/Library/CoreServices/Springboard.app
    3. Then choose the folder with your language.
    4. Open SpringBoard.strings

Please be sure to back up this file!

    5. Scroll down to
    6. Edit the part in bold.

    7. Save.

    8. Respring

    Slide to Power Off text:

    1. Open iFile.
    2. Navigate to /System/Library/CoreServices/Springboard.app
    3. Then choose the folder with your language.
    4. Open SpringBoard.strings

    Find:
Change the text in bold to what you want to.

    TWEAKS AND HACKS (Cydia)

Here are some nice tweaks/hacks from Cydia.

    ProSwitcher

A nice little PalmPre styled task manager that has an elegant UserInterface.

    )

    Circuitous

This is also a good task manager, but not as smexy as ProSwitcher! You can set it through Activator in Settings, and when its activated, it shows a nice little dock that pops up, you can scroll through what processes are running, SpringBoard is dimmed, and free memory is shown at the bottom of the dock.

There is a video showing Circuitous attached to this post.

    Infinidock

A nice scrolling dock in which infinite apps can be stored.

    Categories

An app which creates folders that contain your apps, that may prevent a SpringBoard disaster.

    More to come!

Seems kinda pointless but may be helpful to a new user I guess... you should go more into some other stuff. This is titled how to "customize" your device but you just posted some organization and task manager utilities... I would think customizing would be more stuff like the first section. Some info on MIM perhaps.

    ... Not really "ultimate".

It explains three nice, but yet simple tweaks that most beginners know about because of high publicity.
Get into some other more less publicized, but amazing tweaks, such as Iconoclasm and such.
