So i have my old ipod shuffle that was synced to a different computer (that we no longer have) and i want to get the music from it onto my current Mac. Is there any FREE program that can do this?

If you wish to transfer files from your iPod to computer, computer to iPod, even iPod to iTunes, then ImTOO iPod will be useful for you. with ImTOO iPod Computer Transfer you can copy and backup music, videos, and photos between them.

A second vote to SharePod here. It's really good in many ways.

I had to do this not to long ago myself (on my mac getting my sisters iPod shuffle music on my laptop)

I looked and looked for software but found out you don't need any.

First you will need to enable hidden files to be seen in terminal (okay maybe I lied you could use an application for this or a terminal command)

Then plug in your iPod and it will appear in Finder. But once iTunes recognizes it, it will disappear.

You will find your music in a hidden folder called iPod_Control (or something along those lines)

    i have an alternative
in itunes, enable your ipod for disk use,
drag all ur music onto your ipod,
    unplug
    go to your new computer
open in My Computer (or the mac equivalent)
then drag the music onto your macc
