Hello there, today I will be showing you how to use your PC's internet on your iPod Touch. I have only tested this on my 2G MC but this should work on other models aswell.

Firstly you have to enable internet connection sharing.

Click Start, and then click Control Panel.

Under Pick a category, click Network and Internet Connections.

Under or pick a Control Panel icon, click Network Connections.

Right-click your wireless network connection, and then click Properties.

In the Wireless Network Connection Properties dialog box, click the Wireless Networks tab.

On the Wireless Networks tab, under Preferred networks, click Add.

In the Wireless network properties dialog box, on the Association tab, type the name of your ad hoc wireless network in Network name (SSID) box. For example, you could name your wireless network MyHomeNetwork.

Clear the The key is provided for me automatically check box and select the This is a computer-to-computer (ad hoc) network check box.

Create a 13-digit password and type it in both the Network key and Confirm network key boxes. For the best security, include letters, numbers, and punctuation. Then click OK.

Click OK again to save your changes.

    Now to setup the iPod.

IN SOME CASES YOU WILL HAVE TO BRIDGE THE CONNECTIONS.
BEFORE YOU CAN USE THIS NETWORK, YOU MUST CONNECT TO IT ON THE HOST COMPUTER, WHEN IT SAYS WAITING FOR NETWORK, CONNECT YOUR iPod THEN.

Note: I found it easier to not have a password. But that is your decision.

    Credits to Microsoft.

Okay nice guide but I believe that it has been posted on this site and many other sites so many times that it is practically common knowledge.

But still nice effort. I can't blame you for trying to help others

Nope. You can't "tether WiFi"-- why can't your computer connect to the WiFi network the iPod is connected to? And if it doesn't have a WLAN device... buy a cheap computer from Best Buy or Newegg that does... even sub-$200 PCs should have WLAN adapters.

Buy a USB Wifi adapter for your computer for around $10-15
