Hey all. I have two options after doing the quicktether jailbreak. They are:

    1) "set up as new iPod" or
    2) "Restore from the backup of: <<my iPod's name>>

I DO NOT want to lose the jailbreak. Can I choose either and still keep the JB along with all the apps I've dl'd so far, or must I "set up as a new iPod" since the second choice wipes out the JB?

    Thanks!

Set up as a new iPod. It's probably safer.

Setup as new. I tried restoring from backup and my ipod just crashed. You'll have to resync everything but at least you'll be jailbroken.

If you restore from backup it simply places all your files back on just like it was before you jailbroke it. You do not lose the cydia or installer though. You are still jailbroken. You do have to do a manual reboot again though.

I see, so if I synced right away (without extra apps other than cydia and installer) after jailbreaking I wouldn't lose cydia or installer and I would get all my old apps back right?

But, I've downloaded a ton of new cydia apps before thinking of this...so now it's too late unless I want to do a full restore and lose everything right?
