    Hi Ipod Touch Fans,

I just bought a gently used 8gb Ipod Touch running 1.1.3.
It came already jailbreaked and I'm not sure which method was used to jailbreak it.

Although I can ping it once connected to my wireless network, I can't seem to ssh to it.
I'm using SSH Secure Shell from (www.ssh.com)
So my question is how do I figure out if the ssh server has been installed? And if not, how do I install one so I can ssh to it and copy files to it like PDF documents? I want to read them using PDFViewer.

It has Installer v3.11 on it.

    Apprecaite the help. Thanks!

How to ssh into a jailbroken ipod touch.

    1. Jailbreak
    2. Go to Installer.app
    3. Go to system
    4. Install BSD Subsystem
    5. Install Open SSH
    6. Reboot iPod
    7. Open Settings.app
    8. Go to "wifi:
    9. Tap the little blue arrow next to your connection
    10. Open your ssh proram ( I like WinSCP )
    11. Host Name = IP adress displayed on iPod
    12. port number should be 22 or 23
    13. username is "root" (by default)
    14. password is "alpine" (by default)

And you should be good to ggo

If you upgrade to 1.1.4 and install ssh install BossPrefs after turn ssh off then on ssh is not on when you install it on 1.1.4 you have to turn it on yourself
