You all know that you can SSH into your iPod, but what about SSH from the iPod, to another iPod - no computer required! This gives you free reign over a friend or adversary's iPod, all via the command line. *This isn't exactly news, but I'm not sure it's common knowledge either. WARNING: ANY MALICIOUS BEHAVIOR, SUCH AS DELETING CRITICAL FILES, IS ILLEGAL. DO NOT ATTEMPT. What You Need: A jailbroken iPod touch or iPhone Terminal Application BSD Subsystem openSSH enabled (on both devices) Root Password of target device (default: alpine) A wireless internet connection, for both devices The IP addresses of the target device ___ 1. Make sure both devices have an active internet connection and SSH turned ON. 2. On your iPod, open Term-vt100. The target device can be doing anything; this matters not. 3. The command: ssh UserName@HostName - That equates to ssh root@IPofTarget Example: Please Register or Log in to view images 4. Assuming your iPod has found the target device, you will be prompted for the target device's password. (The default is alpine) Enter the password. 5. Now you will have entered a remote terminal, where whatever command you enter will affect the target device. (Not yours) --5a. You can launch applications (example of command: /Applications/Installer.app/Installer) You can reboot the device (command: reboot) **If you launch an application on the target device, that person will not be able to exit an application that you launched until you exit the terminal. **I am not encouraging you to do anything malicious. This is primarily for amusement purposes only. Have fun.
