This tutorial is not recommended if you download themes from Cydia. Get quality themes from ModMyi, Macthemes, Macciti

Original Guide (Mods remove link if it violates rules)

    Tutorial:
    1. Open Cydia
    2. Let it refresh your sources
    3. Press Sections
    4. Press Edit on top right hand corner
    5. Turn off all loading of Themes (Disable all sections that have the word theme in it. )
    6. Disable other sections if needed.
    7. Press Done
    8. Refresh Sources and see the difference.

Expect a big speed increase in loading changes.

Cool! I normally use the apt command line interface rather than Cydia to manage packages, but this makes a lot of sense (especially for someone like me who isn't a huge themer)

Wow, very nice tutorial! This is great for me since I don't even get themes from Cydia.

the long waiting time was my main reason to dislike cydia

i always downloaded the debs to ifile to make it faster.

ive also deleted sections like ringtones because EVERY song gets released there and i dont even have an iphone

i think there are as many ringtone updates as theme updates

Good suggestion.. basically you are telling us to turn off unnecessary things. Thanks.

so people can see how fast this actually is.

i also like that i only see the 'apps' in cydia. normally i had to scroll through various sh*tty themes and now there are like only 3 things in 1 update.

Very easy and simple tutorial, helps out a lot. And yes, the themes in Cydia aren't the best.
