    Hey all!
Many users have been wanting to know how to SSH into their ipods on a mac, and today I'm going to be showing you ONE way. This is only a trial version for 14 days, but you can buy it.

    1.) Download this FTP/SFTP client:
    http://captainftp.xdsnet.de/

2.) Download the one specific to your mac OS, I suggest V5.2 (Tiger, Leopard, Panther, or Jaguar).

3.) Now it'll lead to a liability claim, just hit "I agree". Then download according to where you are (USA, Europe).

4.) The file should take 20 (15.7 MB) seconds at the most to download.

5.) Once downloaded, open up Captain FTP 5.2 (Not .dmg)

6.) Drag and drop the Captain FTP icon wherever you want it (they tell you applications folder, NOTE: This takes a second to copy).

7.) Now, just double click it.

8.) It will begin opening, this may take a couple seconds, just be patient (A notice will pop up about a 14 day period, ignore this unless you are willing to buy it).

9.) Now click the Black Connect button.

10.) Where it says protocol, change it to SFTP

11.) Then type in your IP Address (To find out [on ITouch] go to Settings -> Wifi -> Then touch the network you're connected to and type in the number that it says for IP Address on the Mac)

12.) Now, for username type in root
And your password (This can be changed by opening the SSH application and typing in a new password for yourself, then exiting the application)

13.) Now just hit "OK" and it should begin Logging you in, this may take pretty long, so be very patient with it.

14.) Congratulations, you have now SSHED into your ITouch on a mac!

By default it is alpine, though, once in your IpodTouch (and you have the SSH application) you can change it.

No, if you read my first post I stated I made a mistake. I was simply replying to someone elses post in this specific section of the forum and did not notice where I was posting. If you know a mod that could move this to the Applications section, I would be grateful.
