I'm always seeing posts needing help with SHSH Blobs or downgrading so I will just make this thread to show you how and have some support for you if you have any trouble. Feel free to post questions!

    FAQ
Q1:Can I go to any firmware version I want?
A:Only if you have the SHSH blobs saved for that firmware

Q2: How come I can downgrade wthout the SHSH blobs?
a: You more than likely have an MB model or earlier aka the old bootroms. Those have "soft SHSH" which you don't technically need the blobs for

Q3: Tiny Umbrella says port 80 is in use and won't work. What should I do?
A: Close any remote or chatting programs such as logmein, skype, teamviewer etc. If you want to find out what programs are running enter in the following cmds in command prompt(Windows Only)
Q4: iTunes gives me an error when I try to restore to the current firmware out. How come?
A: Your host file has been edited from the sounds of it, so just use Tiny Umbrella as if you were going to downgrade and restore that way

    Saving SHSH Blobs
FACT: As soon as a new firmware is released, Apple will give a 1-3 day window to save the previous iPhone's blobs. For the iPad and iPod Touch, they give you about 1-2months.

Best method for this is using Tiny Umbrella. It will save all the SHSH blobs it can even if you are or never were on a specific firmware. It will also auto save in the future other blobs as soon as there available.

    1. To save them download Tiny Umbrella located above, and plug in your device and run the program
    2. Next, click on your device that is located in the upper left hand corner and then hit "Save SHSH"
    3. After it is all done saving them, your good! (make sure to check the log section to see if all went well)

Whatever firmware version's it shows that is saved for the device, is what you can downgrade/update to. There is no way at this time to go to a specific firmware that you do not have the blobs to.

    How To Downgrade
Well same as always have the program running and your device plugged in.
(Note: you will need the firmware you want to go to by going here)

    • Put your device into DFU mode by doing this:
      -Have device connected
      -Turn off completely
-Hold down both power+home button for 10secs
      -release only the power button
      -release home button after 9secs
-If done correct iTunes should say in recovery mode and nothing is on your screen
      -Close iTunes
    • Hit "Start TSS Server" and then open iTunes.
    • Hold down:
      -Windows owners=Shift key
      -Mac owners=option/alt key
    • Browse for your firmware you want to go to
    • Sit back and let it restore

I hope this helps you guys!

Interesting, I downloaded tinyumbrella and when I went to "All saved shsh's" it showed 4.0, 4.1, and 4.2.1 firmwares even though I've never saved any shsh's before. It even let me restore back to 4.0! Or is all of this completely normal or what? -.-

    Problem

I have an atv2 with 3.2.1 jailbraked with old Green poison, has worked fine, but now all of a sudden I can not navigate via the remote att all. Hence I dont know if the atv2 is frozen or not. The light on the front is solid white.

Since I cant contact it via the remote I cant not get it into dfu via tinyumbrella. I cant see the atv2 at all in Itunes.

I have the shsh for 3.2.1.

I suppose i need to downgrade it to 3.2.1 again, and then go with green poison rc6, but I can not gget it to show in itunes/enter dfu-mode.

    Please assist. Thanks!

    Best regards
