Here it is, Windows 95 being emulated on the iPhone OS!

*Please, refrain from stupid posts saying, "Why would you want Windows on your iPod anyway?!?!?!". This is for those who want to experiment.

What you'll need in order to do this process of installation:
    • Cyberduck (OS X) or WinSCP (Windows) to run installation command.
    • OpenSSH (through Cydia) installed. Make sure it's enabled, ex. SBSettings.
    • This deb with the bochs emulator and the images, [LINK REMOVED]

How to install the deb on your iPod or iPhone:
    • Using Cyberduck or WinSCP connect to the iPhone
      • Server: IP devices on your local network
      • User: root
      • Password: alpine (unless of course changed)
    • Copy the downloaded bochs.deb to the folder /tmp on your devices filsystem.
    • To open the prompt in which you will send the command, ith WinSCP, press CTR + T, with Cyberduck, press ALT + CMD + C.
    • Enter this command "dpkg -i /tmp/bochs.deb" exactly, and then wait.
    • Once you see "setting up com.isoftru.bochs (1.0.0-1) ...", this is the success conformation. You may now close WinSCP/Cyberduck.
    • Execute a respring. You can do this with SBSettings or BossPrefs. You may also reboot if you like.
    • Done with installation! On your SpringBoard, run the application called Bochs.

      The keyboard doesn't work yet.

      Enjoy!

This emulator may also be used to run other OS's in it's simulated environment, but support is very slim. It will take some work to get images to run. Refer to this thread if you are an experienced user who wants to experiment with other OS images.

Oh yeah, maybe it does! Mods, if it counts as piracy, I'll remove the link ASAP!

I did this last night. It took almost 20 minutes to boot win 95 on my 2nd gen iPod. Even with all mobile substrait extensions turned off and a reboot. And then 2-3 minutes just to open the start menu.

yh it's pretty sluggish but hopefully they'll find a way to speed it up (without me getting a 3GS)
