Making people install backgrounder and then make my app a background app using backgrounder is quite some headache for the users.

Just like LockDown, an app for making ur apps password protected, i want my app to run in background, any advice on this?

Look into either MobileSubstrate extensions of cron jobs. Having an app run in the background is a bad idea (memory management, cpu cycles).

Just create an app that runs in the background. End of story, there is nothing extra you have to do. However, I strongly advise against making an app that runs in the background.

Look into MobileSubstrate extensions of cron jobs. If you must, a daemon. But try to use one of the first two suggestions.

infact i m trying to create an alarm clock application that performs more than tha actual alarm clock app does, so for that purpose i need to run my app in the background.
