I bought my first iPod touch a few days ago and learned about the new 3 gen touch coming out next month so am planning to take it back before my 14 days are up and wait for the new version.

I've already paid for a bunch of apps and also have some personal info on the iPod touch. I was wondering how I remove everything so there's no private info on it when I return it to Apple. At the same time, I don't want to loss the ability to re-load those apps I purchased when I buy the 3 gen iPod touch.

Thanks in advance for any tips on this.

Restore in iTunes without a backup.

Thanks. That sounds simple enough. And I won't lose my apps, right? That'll just remove them from the iPod, but they'll be there when I get the new one to restore on, right? Just double checking

If you are extra zealous, you could DFU restore. That would wipe everything.
