[How to] Put iPhone in DFU mode with a Broken Home/Lock button

    1.) First download this required archive: click here
    2.) Extract the archive to the root of your hard drive, should be C:/DFU/

    3.) Connect your iPhone and ignore iTunes

    4.) Go to: Start - run

    5.) Next type in “c:/dfu/dfu iBSS.m68ap.RELEASE.dfu”

    6.) Wait for iPhone to show a “white” screen.

    Now you are in DFU mode...

    I tried this and received message no error but it didn't do anything, help would be greatly appreciated.

    Impossible? So an old iPod Touch locked with a passcode that has a broken home button is impossible to restore or somehow get into?
