Okay I want my app to somehow display information the user inputs into text fields on their wallpaper. Does anyone know how I can do that?

Like if they put "Metallica is the best!" then on their "slide to unlock screen" it would say that somewhere.

Please help, a nice simple explanation would be great

you would have to modify the image. As far as I know it can't be done easily

I suppose if you knew anything about quartz or core image you could if possible ( I have never used either of these frameworks ) add a layer over the image with the inputted text.

Through Winterboard you can create a theme that has text on the lock screen. Look into that. I'm pretty sure it's a .plist.
