I have just downloaded the new free mobile finder installed via cydia. I downloaded some video files using the safari download plugin. When I navigate to the downloads folder in mobile finder I can't open the video files so they will play? Help please.

On 1.1.x there was an App called AvPlayer, which was supossed to be a "PlugIn" for Finder, to let you open mp3s and mp4s through finder.
On 2.x You need to download dTunes, and copy your files to /priavte/var/mobile/Library/Downloads (you can do this part with Finder)...

Thanks for the tip on copying the files in MobileFinder. Unfortunately it did not work for me. I have an MP4 video that I SSH's onto my iPod Touch. I did a copy and paste in MobileFinder to the Downloads folder but it doesn't show in dTunes when I open it. Am I missing something?

Then you aren't putting it in /var/mobile/Library/Downloads.

I think there was a bubble fart with the copy and paste function. Whatever I did wrong I somehow made a copy of the video. So I did a file/move manuever to the Downloads folder and I know have the video playing in dTunes

. Now I can delete mplayer which can also be a good app once the videos stop playing choppy or as still frames.

Thanks for the great tip and posts.

But isn't AVPlayer already available for 2.x.x? Because I sure have it.
