I just watched a vid the other day about two guys who opened an iphone to change out the battery....you need a special tool. You might try searching for for something like that. I can remember where I saw the vid...gizmodo maybe?

    update: Here it is.

i know with any of the other ipod's you need a razor blade- use this along the side where the metal hit the plastic... then there are going to be ribbons connecting the various components and you have to CAREFULLY disconnect them. after that the front is where the system bored is and you have to use a SMALL computer philips head screw driver the screws are on the sides.... this isn't something you should do if you havn't ever taken apart lap-tops or anything else that is alot of stuff put ontop of eachother. if your not a computer hardware tech or don't know anything about that stuff i wouldn't do it if i was you. a scratch is a scratch... and a broken touch is a broken touch

oh and you can use a flat head screwdriver as well but use the razon blade to start the seperation.

jus call apple, tell them your ipod suddenly isnt working for no reason
    then see what they say
then drop it in water, dry it up in front of the heater
    and noone will know
alternatively, you could jus go ahead and buy a new iPod touch, switch your scratched one with the new one, take it backta the shop and tell 'em you jus bought a new ipod and it has a scratch on it, and ya want a refund. Problem Solved =]

Having worked at an electronics service center before, I'd have to say this is pretty bad advice. I'm going to assume you're being sarcastic.
