Didn't install for me. I edited the two files, but I still get an error message: "The application 'Google Voice' was not installed on the iPod [ipodname] because it is not compatible with the iPod." Does the touch need to be jail-broken for this to work?
Nope, it shouldn't need to be jailbroken. Did you plists save? Did you import the new IPA/APP into iTunes and delete the old one?
Thanks for confirming that it didn't need to be jail-broken. I did save the plists back to the rar file, then opened up the rar file to double check they've been changed. I then copied the rar file back to the iTunes folder that I got it from (where the other apps reside), and then changed the extension back. No dice. The instructions are pretty straight forward, and I understand them all. I'm not sure why it didn't work for me. I'm using a 4G 32GB non-jail-broken Touch.
Rename the rar file back to the ipa (delete the rar extension if you followed the rules directly). Then double click the IPA. When it asks you to override, override (it'll only ask this if you didn't remove it from iTunes).
I don't have anyone to FaceTime with, so I'm not worried about that... There is the temporary WinterBoard fix...
Did you edit both plists? There are two that get edited. And on the second one, you delete not add. The first one you replace the 2 with a 1.
