    Hi

I'd like to be able to create a network between my PC and my iPod Touch.

That is, I want my iPod Touch to be able to access my PC's files to upload them. For example, I got the Stanza application and would like to be able to upload PDF files from my PC to my iPod Touch. Also, I'd like to be able to upload Office documents using FileMagnet (application).

I have a wireless router (Corega), and I've allowed my iPod Touch access to it. However, my PC is wired. I game alot and other things and cant really make my PC wireless.

So how do I go about allowing the two to talk?

I use XP SP2 on my PC. I just ran the Network Setup Wizard, but the iPod Touch didnt show up in My Network Places.

Any help will be met with an eternity of gratitude

    What's cydia? Openssh? winscp?

I have a 2nd gen iPod Touch. I'm not sure if the above is for jailbroken machines, but I'm not at all comfortable with jailbreaking mine, as I will inevitably have no idea what I'm doing.

Basically, if you want full access to your ipod's file system. you HAVE to jailbreak.

Cydia is an Installer, it lets you install 3rd party applications, not supported by app store, on your ipod.

OpenSSH lets you share the file system, and WinSCP lets you access it.

PM me if you want/need further help jailbreaking.

DO you just want to use your iPod to transport files? like a USB HD?

if so, you dont need to JB it.. just get i-funbox (google)

you can copy files up to it and then pull them back down (WITH USB CORD so its fast)

    Goodo, thanks.

I believe it is possible to create a network between my iPod Touch and my PC though, using my wireless router. It's just that I dont know how to do that.

If someone can explain to me how to do that, then applications like Stanza and FileMagnet will allow me to do what I wish without the need to jailbreak.

Hehe, exactly, hence I'd prefer not to jailbreak if possible.

I believe the way to set it up as I'd like is as follows:

I'm not too sure on how to do those two things mentioned though. Any ideas?

I tried emailing a test pdf as an attachment, but it wouldnt open. Also, I want to be able to read it offline.

Again, here is what I want to do:

Setup the router's access point function. Associate your wireless devices to the access point.

    Any ideas?
