[OFFICIAL HOW TO] Multitask On A 2G iPod touch (No Computer, No Lag)

How to Enable Multitasking for the iPod touch 2G

First of all, this is not some shotty multitasking app that you must use like an app! (Backgrounder) This is the real deal, double-click, Winterboard theme that enables multitasking EXACTLY like the 3rd Gen, iPhone 3GS, and iPhone 4. I've tested this with an iPod touch 2G (Late 2008). This WILL NOT WORK with an iPod touch 1st Gen.

This theme WILL NOT slow down your device while using up to 6 or 7 apps at once. However, any more than 6 or 7 and severe lag may occur.

    Requirements:

    Jailbroken 2G iPod touch
5 Minutes of Time (Or less!)
    iOS4
    Winterboard

1.First, open up Cydia. Shuffle over to the search bar and type "Multitasking" Don't download Backgrounder or anything else.

2.Find the theme titled, "Enable Multitasking and Wallpapers." Tap it, and press install and confirm and then jump into your Winterboard settings.

3.Tap themes and tap "Multitasking Only" then respiring. Then there you go! Double-click your home button and an empty multitasking bar will appear!

To multitask, open an app, exit to the home button, and open another app. Double-click the home button again, and the previously opened app will appear. Music controls have now moved to the far left, so just slide to the left to access them, along with rotation-lock, and the iPod app, which is always enabled. NOT ALL APPS WILL MULTITASK. It is up to the developer to enable multitasking for their app. If they haven't, the app will simply relaunch as without multitasking. Enjoy! Feel free to ask any questions!

    How To Uninstall Multitasking

You do not need to disable multitasking in Winterboard to uninstall it!

    1. Enter Cydia, and type "Multitasking" into the search bar.

    2. Tap "Enable Multitasking and Wallpapers"

    3. Tap "Edit" in the top right corner

    4. Tap "Delete" (Or Uninstall) and press confirm.

    5. Return to Cydia and Multitasking is uninstalled.

Many of you talk about some other method of enabling multitasking, also done inside of the iPod. The point of this is, you don't need to edit anything, and since you're jailbroken, you already know how to do it. It's as simple as activating a theme for your iPod, no need to edit anything or download any extra software. This is by far the simplest way of enabling multitasking.

Or enable it via plist. Or use redsn0w. Both much better than a WinterBoard theme which eats battery.

Are you sure you're not looking at packages? And sure that you're typing "Multitasking" correctly? Maybe it's case-sensitive?
