This one site said to do this:

    Install:
    SSH to root.
    Open Media Folder.
    Create "Cydia" Folder.
    Within Cydia, create "AutoInstall" folder.
    Place [App].deb inside "AutoInstall" folder.
Restart your phone, go to the app.. and enjoy..

Does that method really work? I tried it and it didn't, but why would it be posted if it didn't work?

    Easier way is

    SSH to the root directory
    Copy over the .deb file
in terminal type "dpkg -i /path/to/deb/file.deb"

    Easy peasy

Great, but why doesn't it work? I want to be able to use the AutoInstall method.

EDIT: Tried the quoted method. I typed "su root", then my password, then "dpkg -i /path/to/deb/SetWallpaper.deb" (SetWallpaper.deb is the name of the .deb file). Was I supposed to replace "path
    with "root", too?

EDIT: Nope. tried "dpkg -i /root/to/deb/SetWallpaper.deb"

    EDIT: Tried "dpkg -i /root/to/SetWallpaper/SetWallpaper.deb"

    Code:
    su root
    (Your Password)
    cd /
    dpkg -i SetWallpaper.deb
You replace "/path/to/deb" with the path to the .deb file.

the /path/to/deb/ is the folder you placed it in, so if you placed it in /var, you put /var.
