What I'm trying to ask is if you open the core files within Pwnage, and change the file for hte image woudl you end up with a customized boot image?

I have not tried and do not want to risk screwing up the firmware, if you are brave enough to try than post results

Well if it doesn't work it'll use the stock image. I'm goign to try now. After I back up everythign to a firmware so I can do it.

Also, once I put the files here I want them, what do I do in Pwnage? Just run it then use iPwner?

The Boot image is a ".img2" file. It is not just an Image. It has a protected encoded Key on it which is part of securing the firmware.

The image itself, within the firmware, IS a plain .png image. I'm testing to see what happens when I overwrite it.

In Pwnage you just hook up your ipod, click create firmware, pick your 1.1.4 IPSW or 2.0, then once it is done run the pwner, do not disconnect while the process, do not quit Pwnage, do not do anything until it is done, then restore with the Firmware in Itunes

Where did you find this image? In the Decrypted Ramdisk or in the IPSW?

    /System/Library/CoreServices/SpringBoard.app/applelogo.png

I'm going to test right after I backup my System folder. Will be updating.
