    [HOW-TO-MAC] Customizing the Firmware

1.1 Additional Features, ( Boot/ Restore images, Bundle support!)

You, Yourself and Bundles : a [How-To-Mac] Guide

    A bundle, whats that

You might just say they are what make Pwnage's world go round. A bundle is the Application storage center for apps, 1 bundle contains 1 app. Today we will be walking throung the creation of these wonderful jewels of Pwnage.

    Our First Steps

Navigate to your Pwnage App, Right click and press Show Package Contents.
Now Navigate to here as shown in this image

These are all the bundles included withe app, today we will be creating a gpSPhone bundle.

    The Creation

Duplicate your Installer.bundle and right click > show package contents on your copied bundle.
Open the info.plist file in the base folder of the bundle with Property List Editor.

    It should appear like this,

Please Register or Log in to view images

As you see I already edited the Description, change yours to say

    "GBA Emulator by ZodTTD"

Now after this we must change our identifier to match gpSPhone's.
Here is what your finished product should look like!

Please Register or Log in to view images

Now navigate to here in your bundle and delete Installer.app.
    Replace it with gpSPhone.app.

Please Register or Log in to view images

Now move the var folder below the Apps folder to the trash, no need for this for gpSPhone.

    Tadaa..... We are DONE!

Open your Pwnage tool, load your 1.1.4 FW and click Click on IPSW Builder.
Go to Custom Packages, now you see gpSPhone! check it and make firmware with whatever else bundles you made.

Here are the Steps for Making your Ipod Pwned with your new firmware!!

    • First off Customize firmware!
    • 1. get a fresh new copy of 1.1.4 ipod Firmware or iPhone
    • 2. open Pwnage, click Browse Firmware
    • 3. Choose your 1.1.4
    • 4. Wait
    • 5. Save the File as 1.1.4_Custom_Restore.ipsw

      Now Pwn your iphone
    • 1. hook your ipod up in restore mode
    • 2. press pwn
    • 3. Once back to Springboard or restore screen go to iTunes

Shift+Restore and restore with your new 1.1.4 Custome_Restore.ipsw!

    Small Faq

    • Will this work on Firmware 2.0?
Does not work on 2.0, it puts on the app but it is not compatible with the new firmware
    • Can I change the Recovery image and Boot up image?
Yes you can use the boot images tab and edit our PNG's in Gimp photoshop, etc!
    • Can I create Symlinks myself in this process?
yes you can, I would not recommend doing so but if you are experienced with stuff go ahead and try it out!
    • *NOTICE* You must have a Pwned Ipod for this to work!

    OLD 1.0 TUTORIAL

Today I am going to show you how to make your own patch for the firmwares so when you build your custom firmware it loads your apps you want it to!

Please Register or Log in to view images

    Step By Step Process:
    • 1. Navigate to your Pwnage app
    • 2. Right Click > Show Package Contents
    • 3. Go to "Resources > "any firmware here"
    • 4. Go into your desired firmware to mod
    • 5. Go to Core > Choices here are "Applications, bin, usr, var"

*Sound familiar eh, well it is, this is the files found on SSH into a normal jailbroken Ipod

    • 6. Open the Applications directory, put in any app that supports the firmware!
    • 7. Do whatever you want to mod these and have fun creating your IPSW
    • 8. Go to IPSW Builder once you open Pwnage and build the IPSW with the Iphone dev logos
    • 9. Now Restore with your new firmware

Hopefully except for Windows there is a folder for this stuff in the C Drive I believe for many apps! I really do not know though because I have not used a Windows in so long!

yes you can ok here is for Cydia, add the app to the Applications folder in whatever firmware you want to put it in.
Next drag it's frameworks to here "DESIRED FIRMWARE NAME HERE > mobile > Library"
the Frameworks should be bundled in a folder named Cydia, if not do so now!

IpodTouchMaster said he would get back after his friend on his dev team was on, i will ad it if I find anything now, I am going to look!

Wait, I think the devs are making a tool for this, Img2 is encrypted with codes and all that just to see the pic, the process would take several hours, I think I heard from someone that in the next Pwnge release we will have a tool for this!
