Ok so follow these steps, i had problems with 16GB just like you. Everytime I tried to JB using Zibree ZiPhone 1.0 i had BSD root... But now it works! Dont know if it wil works for you too, but i hope so.

I cant guarantee, this will work for you and that this is really good solve, but for me it works!
So please someone test it and reply to this thread...

    1) Restore to 1.1.1
    2) JB using jailbreakme.com
    3) Add source: http://www.spaziocellulare.com/ispazio.xml , http://blazeco.info/blaze.xml
    4) Install 1.1.2 SvPatch, BSD Subsystem
    5) Your iPod mustnt be connected to computer!
    6) Upgrade to 1.1.3 by install package name "1.1.3 Jailbreak DevTeam"
    7) At the end of instalation it say : Main script execution failed", so just restart iPod..
    8) Now you will see, that you have firmware 1.1.3 WITHOUT Installer
    9) Now connect iPod to computer via USB
    10) Go on your ipod to restore mod
    10) Start ZiPhone 1.0 - i started 1.0 but maybe 2.3 wil work too..
    11) check Jailbreak and Boot verbose..
    12) Start process
    13) Now you should have JB iPod using ZiPhone!!

After JB i havent acces to FS by Total commander, so it is real Zibree JB...

I used Windows XP Professional, iTunes 7.6 and iPod Touch 16GB 46 week!

Isn't 6) Upgrade to 1.1.3 by install package name "1.1.3 Jailbreak DevTeam" a soft-upgrade? You may have jailbroken an 1.1.3 firmware with ziphone, but it's not the real 1.1.3fw.

Yea thats true, but then how it cant work on clean 1.1.3 for me?
If I have 2*8GB SSD then it may work fine for me, but it dont work... There was still BSD root, and now it works!! It works only because I SOFT-upgrade to 1.1.3 from 1.1.1...
There must be something else except that problem with SSD disks...
    Hope you understand me

it will prolly work on a soft upgrade cuz its already jailbroken. so whatever problem the 16GB is getting stuck on is already circumvented by already being jailbroken.

the goal is get an OTB 1.1.3 iPod Touch jailbroken using this method.

if this method cant do that, then u might as well be using the Dev Team soft upgrade.

    Here's what you just did:
    1. Installed firmware 1.1,1
    2. Jailbroke it.
    3. Replaced the file that tells the iPod what firmware it it running.
    4. Deleted the software (including Installer) and replaced with the 1.1.3 software. Note, you are still on 1,1,1 and your iPod is still jailbroken from before.
    5. Put Installer back on using ZiPhone.

Also not that since yoh sre still using the 1.1.1 kernel, there will be lots of problems, including broken DRM.
