How to Jailbreak to 3.0 - Windows

i did jailbreak my ipod touch a week ago and now i see that i can upgrade to 3.1.1 or something... 3 questions please

1. do i have to restore or do something else, if i want to upgrade?
2. if i upgrade, do i have to wait for aother jailbreak, or does it still work with 3.1.1?
3. any major difference between 3.0 and 3.1.1?

First, it seems that 3.1.1 is pretty crashy and stuff. Not stable EVEN without jailbreak.

If you do a iTunes UPGRADE the jailbreak applications and files sort of are left in filesystem, BUT YOU CANNOT ACCESS them (I once did a upgrade, and "Other" used space was still 2gigs for clannad files on iPod though it was not in jailbroken state anymore)

You DO need to make another jailbreak for it, and also, THERE IS NOT ONE YET.

If you LIKE your jailbroken stuff, do not upgrade. And if you do not care, DFU install the fres firmware, backup whats dear to you, and when jailbreak comes out do it then

im starting to get pretty frustrated. i updated my ipod touch 2g to 3.0 firmware and everytime i run redsnow it successfully identifies the firmware but when i click next it says "connecting to server" for about 1 second and then redsnow just disappears. ive tried running it in windows 95, 98, 2000, etc blah blah...it just doesnt seem to work . can someone please help me

my jailbreaking process stopped in connecting to server. I've tried it twice already. Do i need something to configure in my internet settings?

What about those of us with a 1G ipod touch ... I'm still on 2.2.1 and don't want to upgrade to 3.1.1 if jailbreaking it isn't supported yet but I can't jailbreak 3.0 because there's no ISPW for that lol so what do I do?

What my question is is this:

I have 2.2.1

If I get 3.0, my JB apps will disappear...

So how do I go from 2.2.1 to 3.0 without losing my JB apps?

Do I back up my JB apps, get 3.0 then JB and load em in or what?

Where is Apple Software Updates??

I go to C:\User\Document and Setting\Apllication Data\Apple, etc

But what I get in there is called "Device Update" which contains a restore which is like 35kB in size.

When I try to use Redsn0W with that it said unrecognizable. Anyone know why?

just follow the steps carefully my friend...
but in the steps where you will copy your firmware,
put it in the same directory where the redsnow Exe file is located.
be sure that copying it will not corrupt the firmware.
then in DFU mode if itunes pop out exit it.
double click redsnow exe file and remember its directory..
when the redsnow want you to browse your firmware,
browse it to the same directory where your redsnow is... then after
redsnow verifies it click next...

thats it voila... in just a matter of minutes your pod will be jailbroken..

This works whatever itunes you had whether it is the latest 9.0.1 or the 8.2
whatever redsnow you had version 0.7 or 0.8
whatever Os between this 2 you have Vista or XP, i havent so sure of pre xp.. just follow carefully the steps

I've found the folder with my 3.0 software update but there's no file inside??

I have been following a guide that says click shift+restore on itunes, locate the 3.0software update... and I can't find it!

This is my path: C:\Users\John\Music\iTunes\iTunes Music\Apple Inc_\iPhone 3.0 Software Update for iPod touc

It's wierd coz there's no "h" on touch either and no file inside
Help!
