    Hi folks,

I'm a newbie and tried all the different versions of jailbreaking 1.1.3 posted in this forum - many thx to the people worked on these versions. I spent over 20 hours testing them and at the end found a combination of steps that worked for me and - hopefully - for all of you.

First of all: Everything is working on my iPod Touch! No installer script error, no YouTube problem with playing videos, no installer problem comming from unsufficent disk space, ...)

Here are the steps I did - I hope this will work for you as well.

    How-To Jailbreak iPod Touch 1.1.3

    How-To Jailbreak iPod Touch 1.1.3

    1. Downgrade to 1.1.1 (in iTunes press "Shift" and the Button "Restore" and select Firmware 1.1.1)

*** Hint: When iTunes asks, install as a new iPod and uncheck all (e.g. Sync) ***

    2. Change Settings (in Settings go to "General" and set auto-lock to "Never")

    3. Connect to Wifi (in Settings edit your Wifi-Settings)

    4. Jailbreak 1.1.1 (in Safari open "jailbreakme.com" and select "Install AppSnapp")

*** You now have a jailbroken iPod Touch 1.1.1 ***

    5. Update Installer (if necessary)

    6. Install OktoPrep (in Installer select "OktoPrep" in category "Tweaks (1.1.1)")

    7. Upgrade to 1.1.2 (in iTunes press "Shift" and the Button "Update" and select Firmware 1.1.2)

    8. Jailbreak 1.1.2 (open "Windows.bat" and press "Jailbreak" - it's not necessary to check "Install SSH")

*** You now have a jailbroken iPod Touch 1.1.2 ***

    9. Update Installer (if necessary)

    10. Install BSD Subsystem (in Installer select "BSD Subsystem" in category "System")

    11. Install 1.1.3 Jailbreak (in Installer select "Official 1.1.3 Upgarder"
    in category "System")

    12. Start Updater and select "Reset Settings" - Wait a long time (up to an hour or two)

*** You now have a jailbroken iPod Touch 1.1.3 ***

    13. Connect to Wifi (in Settings edit your Wifi-Settings)

    14. Add Source to Installer (in Installer select "Sources", then "Edit", then "Add"
and add "ipodtouchmaster/files/repo.xml" - let the Installer refresh)

    15. Install iPhone Apps (in Installer select "The iPhone 1.1.3 Apps"
    in category "iPhone 1.1.3 Applications")

    16. Install 1.1.3 Fix Mail (in Installer select "1.1.3 Fix Mail"
    in category "iPhone 1.1.3 Applications")

    17. Install BSD Subsystem (in Installer select "BSD Subsystem" in category "System")
    - if you get an error "insufficient disk space" reinstall after step 20.

    18. Add Source to Installer (in Installer select "Sources", then "Edit", then "Add"
and add "sleepers.net/repo" - let the Installer refresh)

    19. Install BossTool (in Installer select "BossTool" in category "Utilities")

    20. Free up memory (in BossTool select "Free Disk Space" and move Fonts, Ringtones and then Apps
DO IT EXACTLY IN THAT ORDER!!!)

    21. Install OpenSSH (in Installer select "OpenSSH" in category "System") to access your iPod Touch

    *** You're done!!! ***

Now you can sync all your files and install all the apps you want/need - including SummerBoard!

I used the same method but summerboard doesn't work even with the updated version designed for 1.1.3

How long did you wait? Because that happens sometimes to me too like Refreshing Sources stops at some point but it eventually gets thorugh... May be lack of patience is the problem

I had trouble with my first attempt at 1.1.3 in that it would freeze on any text input (installer, safari, etc.). It may be an installed app causing it, I dunno. Trying again...
