This is a tutorial completely based off

    http://www.ifans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=149875

This is more clear and hopefully easier to understand....

    What you NEED:
    • Jailbroken iPod touch
    • USB Utilities Pack
    • CCProxy
    • OpenSSH (Search on Cydia)

    What you DO:

-Make sure OpenSSH is turned ON
    -Turn on your Wi-Fi
    -USB Cable

    SETUP & INSTRUCTIONS

    1. Install CCProxy

    2. Run CCProxy, Click Options, click Advanced near OK, Networks Tab

UNTICK Disable External Users > OK

    3. Don't close but minimize it. It should be on the tray icon.

    4. Now Copy the "Lockdown Folder" from

    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Apple\

    and paste into

    C:\Documents and Settings\Your-Username\Application Data\Apple Computer\

    5. Plug your iPod to your computer with the USB. Make sure SSH is turned ON

    6. Open USB Utilities folder and run "1_start_ssh_tunnel.cmd". LEAVE IT OPEN

Note: If a Windows Firewall dialog pops up, click on "Unblock"

    7.Now run proxy_tunnel.cmd

It may also ask you a question, just press "y" and then enter and it will countinue. (Same as above, don't close the window!)

It will ask you a password (Default: alpine)

    8. With the two black windows still opened, on your iPod touch

Open Settings.app and turn on your Wi-Fi. Find the network you want to use and click the little arrow to go to the Options.

Scroll down and under HTTP Proxy select Manual

    127.0.0.1 as the server
    808 as the port.

    Leave Authentication: OFF

Nice tutorial, I was just wondering, is this just a different way to get the internet when in a known Wi-Fi zone? Because obviously if you can get the internet on a computer/laptop, surely you would be able to get the internet on your ipod touch by just inputting the details of the Wi-Fi? I just don't see the point in doing this...

Where can I find these directories on Windows 7?

Edit: Never mind, found them. For those wondering, they're "C:\ProgramData\Apple" and "C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Local\Apple Computer"

this may sound like a shot in the dark but could this mean the ipod touch could be used as a wireless adapter for an xbox 360?
