Hi everyone, Im an absolute newbie to JB. I recently purchased ipod touch 3g 32g and am all keen about it being jailbroken and getting ready for installing 3rd party app/games. After reading numerous threads here I still have a query: how do i acctually install these already downloaded app/games using cydia or icy? Do i transfer the installation files from my PC to the ipod and get it installed from there? I'm desparate to find out. Many thanks in advance!!!

Specifically, what Apps are you looking for? Have you tried the App Store? That is going to be the main place where you're getting Apps.

If by 'third party apps' you mean emulators like NES 3.0, then you just run Cydia, download the app by hitting the 'Install' button, and you're done.

If you're trying to pirate, as your responses suggest... read the rules, please.

It sounds like he's saying transferring apps installed on his computer to his iPod.

Like, if I took HL2.exe (Half-Life 2 main executable) and somehow used Cydia to install it on my iPod. No, that wouldn't work.

Cydia apps are apps made for Cydia and only Cydia. They can't be used anywhere else.

And installing them is just as easy as using the app store. There is no computer needed, just Cydia and WiFi.
