    Place it in var/root

    In terminal type

dpkg -i var/root/WinterBoardxxxx.deb <--(application name here, as it shows on deb file)

deb is the extension of the Debian software package format and the most often used name for such binary packages. Like the "Deb" part of the term Debian, it originates from the name of Debra, then girlfriend and now ex-wife of Debian's founder Ian Murdock.

    Debra huh? That's interesting.

If anyone else is interested there's an easier way to install .deb files using Cydia.

    1. You should create a folder /var/root/Media/Cydia/AutoInstall
    2. Copy the .deb file to the /AutoInstall folder
    3. Reboot AND Respring
