Notice!!!! preform this at your own risk!!!
i recently have been have been trying to increase my ram by removing launchdaemons ect.

i recently found this new way to increase ram and was suprised at of how easy and effective it was i had and average RAM of about 47mb

after i preformed this i average around 60mb on my 3.1.3 8g 3rd generation ipod!!!

    INSTALL

Step 1. download the zip file attached
    Step 2. extract the iPhoneVM.deb
Step 3. ssh into your ipod with winscp
Step 4. place the .deb file into var/root
step 5. open terminal and type in this command:"dpkg -i iPhoneVM.deb"
step 6. it will get to a point where your terminal will look like it got stuck on a step, but it is really finished installing
    step 7. reboot your ipod
step 8. click free up memory in sbs settings
    step 9. congradualations!!!

    Uninstall

Step 1: Open Cydia and uninstall it. (Should be at the very bottom of packages written in chinese)
Step 2: Now SSH into your iPhone and navigate to var/vm/ and delete the swap files inside. (DO NOT JUST DELETE THE ENTIRE var/vm DIRECTORY – ONLY DELETE THE FILES INSIDE)
Step 3: Now navigate to System/Library/LaunchDaemons and delete the com.apple.dynamic_pager.plist file (this file may already be deleted by cydia) (do not panic if you can not find it)
    Step 4: REBOOT iPhone.
    Step 5: Done.

    Please post your experiences

If you really want to use VM, I suggest you get SuperCharged. I see better performance and less lag. And my battery still lasts pretty nice.

You also need to know that this will eventually kill your ipod after your ipod runs out of read/write cycles.
