There are no how to threads for this so I decided to make one. Here you go.

Tested on my iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 4.

    Make sure you have Winterbaord

Install Open SSH (or use iFunbox)
Navigate to /Var/stash/Themes and copy No RotationLock Icon.theme into there
    Activate in Winterbaord and respring.

I know this has been done before but there are no how to threads.

Is there a way to modify the original rotation lock icon but instead of making it dissapear, actually changing it to something different?

Yea, but you would need to find out the size the icon needs to be then make whatever icon you want it to be and download my theme, go to the last folder, and override the images. Leave it to a more experienced themer though, ask someone on the forum. Themes can get tricky when you have nothing to work off of, since the original image is hidden in the .artwork file (I believe).

Yeah it would be much easier if you could access the original file but i suppose i could just use a screenshot of it and go from there

Or you can just change the file's extension to .hidden or whatever.

I'm not a fan of Winterboard, so if you're like me, this is the best way to do it (via iFile).

It's in a .artwork file, so can't change the extension.

When i tried your theme to remove the lock icon, it crashed my ipod, but i did modify them a bit as you can see in the screenshots (and please dont judge the theme, just the status bar, and the lockscreen is a gif so thats why its crappy quality) This helped a lot dude, thanks, how did you know what to name the files?

Hmm.. well I don't see how it crashed it. It's just a simple theme. But maybe the device was not supported.

I don't remember how I knew what to name the file, I forgot about this thread haha

You can using this long forgotton program on google code which I forgot the name of. It only works on mac osx so I can't remember the name. It decrypts it into files and you can recompile it. ONly problem is that I tried to port it to my ipod but it wouldn't work.

Wasn't that out dated a while back? I know about the program (Forgot the name also) but when I tried it, it didnt work. So I Googled and I read everywhere it was outdated.
