I want to hide that little icon that pops up in the status bar when you disable auto rotation.

    Thanks.

SSH n find that icon n replace with black single pixel image. sorry i'm on 3.1 but most icons should be available in either
    /System/Library/CoreServices/SpringBoard.app/

or replace a UIImage of this in witnerboard theme
    UIImages/

Had a look in there just now, couldn't find anything (with an obvious name) so it may have another name. Does anyone know?

I haven't seen anything that looks like a status bar icon, but I did see "RotationUnlocked.png" and "RotationLocked.png" in Springboard.app. Only problem is, they're just about twice the size of the rotation lock button itself. :/

The fact that I saw none of the Status Bar icon images in Springboard.app leads me to believe that they're all in another directory. Find that directory, and add ".old" to the end of the image filename. That keeps a backup on your phone in case you need it.
    After renaming it, respring.

    Hope this helps.

No. Those would be "RotationLockButton.png" and its unlock counterpart. These are almost like what comes up when you're going into silent mode / changing the volume.

Yeah, those are all somehow connected to the multitasking bar because I removed all of them and the icon on in the multitasking bar just went black, lol.

Yeah, they're probably located somewhere else, but I have no idea where,

I couldnt find them in the stock iphone's complete theme i downloaded but check out this theme. The guy has the correct images (but theyre transparent) included in his theme to hide the rotation icon for the springboard http://www.ifans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=303925

Thanks for that, man. Yeah, it's in the UIImages folder, but, I don't know where to find it's original destination, lol.

Anyway, this does the job, thanks!
