    -------------------------------------------------
    Steps:
    1.Get a 1$ 150 Sanding paper pack
2.Clean your ipod with the micro fiber cloth
3.Rub Up and down (Ooooh SEXY ;-))
5.Repeat step 2 and 3 until the wanted result.
NOTE: This WILL scratch your ipod and it will remove the Apple Logo and the 8/16/32/60/80/120GB text (WOW that was long)
if you have anything you want to add then dont PM me, just comment!!

Use a scotch pad instead, that sand paper just doesn't look very good

Yep, those Scotch-Brite pads are better. Plus, all my words are still there lol. And, there's already a tutorial on this. Link

What are you talking about? He uses a scotch pad too, they don't need a lot of pressure, just time and patience. Yours just looks terrible. You can tell it was rushed, the scratches are not straight and far too deep.

Note for anyone who wants to do this:

1.) No sand paper, scotch pad only.

2.) Straight lines in a consistent pattern, unlike op.

To anyone who may be stupid enough to follow the advice in these "Scratch your iPod up!" threads, be warned that your warranty will be void. Especially if you, for some reason, feel compelled to completely sand off the logos and serial number.

The mods need to remove these threads - they're just promoting people to do something stupid and harmful to their device.

    How is it harmful?

Here is a guide on how to do it: click. If you read on the left, it says that the guy emailed Apple about doing this and this is what they emailed him:
