    Here's my situation:

My iPod froze, while running dTunes (not playing a video though), so i force rebooted it, but it got stuck on the apple logo. I left it overnight, so the battery drained (as it was doing strange things and not turning off properly), tried it again, but without luck. I put it into restore mode and i could just restore it, but i never got around to backing it up, (dammit.) so i would lose all my files. If there is any way to get it out of restore mode, or view and backup the filesystem, please tell me.

My iPod is a 2G, with 3.0 firmware, 8GB, and i have a PC running vista x64. I've been searching google for about an hour now with no success. Help please?

    Thanks, Kale

PS every once in a while it will disconnect from itunes, and go back to the apple logo.

Hold the Power and Home buttons until you reboot into Normal Mode.

nada. i held it, and here's what it did:

while connected to the computer (and in restore mode):
    1. Screen went black
    2. Went to apple logo for about 5-10 seconds
    3. Went back to restore mode

while disconnected to computer (and in restore mode):
    1. Just turened off

while disconnected to computer (and off):
    1. Went back to apple logo
    2. Flashed black for 3 seconds
    3. Went back to apple logo for 3 seconds
    4. Turned off
