GUIDE: How to get NES emulator working on iPod Touch 1.1.4

These are the simple steps you need to follow to get it working properly:

    Step 1
Go to this thread and follow the instructions carefully.

    Step 2
Add 123locker.com as a source in your installer and then refresh!

    Step 3
Install the NES app from "Games/NES"

    Step 4
Install the NES Roms from "Games/NES Roms"

    Step 5
Log in to your iPod using WinSCP. (See Step 1 for howto.)

    Step 6
Go to your "private/var/mobile/Media" folder and make sure you have a "ROMs" folder there aswell.

    Step 7
Right-click on ROMs folder and select properties (or select it and hit F9).

    Step 8
In the field where it says "0700" - change that to "0755" and hit OK.

    DONE!

You can now use your NES emulator on your 1.1.4 jailbroken iPod touch.

Hi all, I have an 8GB iPod Touch, 1.1.4. It's been jailbroken for a while, and I've had good luck with installing and running most apps. However, I've never been able to get any of the game emulators to work, though I've followed all of the various methods that are supposed to fix the issue. Here's what I've done:

    1. I've installed BSD subsystem and Open SSH to my pod.
    2. I've installed NES Emulator v. 2.0.5-1 (and uninstalled, and re-installed).
    3. I've installed quite a lot of NES ROMs (Maybe about 100, including those from 123locker.com)
    4. I've installed MobileFinder on my pod, and I can see all of the ROMs that are on there (which are in ~/Media/ROMs/NES)
    5. I've used Cyberduck to sucessfully SSH into my pod. I can see the Media file, the NES file, and the ROMs file. Only about 20 ROMs show up, which is weird. All permissions for the ones that show are set to 755.

The NES emulator says it can't find any ROMs. It say to install them to var/mobile/media/ROMs/NES. When I SSH into the iPod, it says the file path for my Media folder is var/root/media/ROMs/NES. I suspect this is the problem, but I can't create anything using Cyberduck with the var/mobile/media/ROMs/NES name = it just won't let me. Does anyone out there have any recommendations? This is really becoming the bane of my existence.
